Cookies Policy
Many Web sites, including
schoolSTAFF and those of our partners, use cookies to track a user's online session.
Here's how a cookie works: When you access certain pages on a Web site, your browser stores
a tiny data file on your computer at the request of the site you're visiting. This trail of
cookie crumbs tracks the pattern of your Web site visit. On your next visit, the Web site
may direct you to content that most interests you, based on your previous usage. This can
improve the user experience as well as the Web site company's marketing efforts. A cookie
may also store a user ID to identify you, allow user access, or greet you personally.
Cookies cannot read your
computer's hard disk or introduce viruses. They may only contain information that you provide
to the Web site. Although the cookies' function may be turned off in your browser preferences,
it must be enabled for schoolSTAFF users to access our partner Web sites.
Here's how schoolSTAFF
and our partners will typically use cookies:
 |
|
To track
session information on our Web servers: Whenever you enter our Web site, a cookie temporarily
stores basic information about you and your account, which is used to manage your user
experience so you get the most out of the Web site. The site also remains more secure by
transmitting a cookie across the Internet instead of your user name and password every time
you request a page. |
 |
|
To cause first-time effects: Knowing a bit about you allows us to prompt certain behaviors
the first time you access a page or area of the Web site (e.g., input information that
directs you to appropriate content). |
 |
|
To save you time: Your ID is stored in a cookie so that you won't have to enter it every
time you log in. |
 |
|
To greet you personally: This allows us to welcome you by name, where appropriate, on the
Web site. |
Community Policies
We encourage open discussion
of the designated topic in our message boards. Our forums are public areas; any item posted
may be seen by others. For an in-depth look at online etiquette, check out the

 |
|
We DO NOT actively screen message posts before they go live on the site. |
 |
|
We DO reserve the right to monitor users' self-published material and delete any that we
deem inappropriate or irrelevant. |
 |
|
We DO acknowledge that the user retains copyright (ownership) of all content published by
the user, and that the user is responsible for that content. We are not liable for content
originating from Web site users. |
